Maybe Ronaldo had achieved much in life. Born in Bento Ribeiro, a simple neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, his options were either studying, playing soccer or being mischievous.
If he had chosen another without the latter, perhaps Ronaldo had never left their neighborhood. Or maybe he had. Maybe Ronaldo had never known the world. Or maybe he had. Perhaps he had never given a hand to the President of his country. Or maybe he had. Might never have won such fame and fortune. Or, maybe ... Well, you get cari lettore!
The truth, the real truth is that we will never know!
would have been happier? Maybe. But maybe not. We do not know! All that would be speculating only a slip and a truth of our reality, formed by the little information we have and control the variables.
All we know is where we are, what is here and now, and we're just here and now by a succession of choices we made in the past. In other words, we are results of choices we make every second of life. The question "What if ..." is dangerous, you can be transported to a vain reality that there is, therefore, is unlikely. Why life is here and now. Not there at once!
